Dorsey Ray ("Jerry") Stimmel, 73, of Frederick, Maryland, died on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Kline Hospice House.He was the husband of J. Lynn Stimmel and the son of the late Dorsey E.R. Stimmel and the former Margaret Ellen Brice. A U.S. Army veteran, he served for 40 years as a Police Communications Operator (dispatcher) at the Maryland State Police Barrack B in Frederick, retiring in 2002.In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by his sister, Martha Jane Ridenour of Thurmont; sister-in-law, Ethel Daugherty of Frederick; brothers-in-law Thomas Ridenour of Thurmont, Edward J. Daugherty, Jr. of Frederick, and J. Martin Smiley of Clarksburg; cousins; nieces; and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Ann D. Smiley.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.Funeral services will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 17, 2017, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD.
