Mrs. Dorothy Ziegler Herbold of Frederick, MD passed away Tuesday morning, February 2, 2009 at Northampton Manor after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Born in Baltimore, MD on December 27, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Minton Ziegler and the loving wife of Charles Frederick Herbold, Jr. who passed away in 1958.
She is survived by a son, Charles Frederick Herbold III of Baltimore and her daughter, Peggy Herbold Fessler and husband Matthew of Walkersville. She is also survived by three loving grandsons, Andrew and Matthew Fessler of Walkersville and Blake Herbold of Westminster.
A graduate of Towson State Teachers College, Mrs. Herbold retired in 1979 after 35 years as a 1st grade teacher in Baltimore City and Baltimore County Public Schools. She loved giving each of her students the very best possible start in first grade.
She was a lifelong member of Temple Baptist Church, in Baltimore, serving faithfully as Sunday School Superintendent and Vacation Bible School Director for many years. After her move to Frederick in 1986, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frederick until her passing.
Services: Private interment will be at the Lorraine Park Cemetery, Baltimore. There will be no public viewing.
The family request memorial contributions be made in her name to the First Baptist Church, 7040 Bowers Rd., Frederick, MD 21702.
