Mrs. Dorothy May Lewis Willard, 93, of Thurmont, died Monday, March 5, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Emanuel Willard.
Born December 7, 1913, in Garfield, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Lillie Brown Lewis.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of Our Lady Carmel Catholic Church. In earlier years, she was a waitress at Camp Cozy. She was employed for more than 30 years as a seamstress at Claire Frock. She loved spending time with her family, the weekly girls day out, gardening and vacationing at Chincoteaque, Va.
She is survived by three children, Clarence Lee Willard and wife Betty and Morris T. Willard, all of Thurmont, and Beverly Scott and husband Joseph of Emmitsburg; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Madeline Brown of Sabillasville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald O. Willard; a grandson, Kyle Lee Willard; a great-granddaughter, Faith Vitale; and three sisters, Ethel Dixon, Rae Wolfe and Mabel Pryor.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 8.
Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, N. Church St., Thurmont, with Father David Shaum as celebrant. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
Pallbearers will be David Willard, Terry Willard, Randy Willard, Chris Willard, John Freniere and Joseph Vitale.
