Dorothy M. Koontz

Mrs. Dorothy M. Koontz, 85 of Frederick, MD passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Glade Valley Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Vernon M. Koontz.

Born November 3, 1924 in Smithsburg, MD she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Margie Kline.

Dorothy was a member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church. She also was active as a Walkersville Senior Citizen. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, crossword puzzles and reading.

She is survived by her two daughters, Donna L. Zang and husband Charles III of New Mexico and Peggy M. Ballew and husband Ed of Rocky Ridge, a sister, JoAnna Creek Dietrich, four grandchildren, Charles Zang IV and wife Cindy, Michael Zang, Kathleen Ballew, Joshua Ballew, five great grandchildren, Charles Zang V, Cort Zang, Colton Zang, Courtney Zang and Caitlyn Zang. She will also be remembered by her special friend, Elmira Cook and her numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Sue Koontz, three brothers, Ralph Kline, Bruce Kline and Richard Kline and a sister, Helen Lewis.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, March 29 from 6-9PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 30th at 1:00PM with Rev. Esther Ziegler officiating.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
