Mrs. Dorothy "Dottie" Louise Thompson Crabbs, 80, of Keymar died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Earl Crabbs Jr., who predeceased her in 2016. They were married for 59 years.
Born April 15, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Carl F. Thompson and Helen E. Droneburg Thompson.
Mrs. Crabbs was born and raised on a farm that is now part of the Lake Linganore Development.
She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, McKaig, and enjoyed working with other members on the fundraisers. She was known for her red velvet cakes. She enjoyed baking and gardening. Dorothy was a graduate of Frederick High School, class of 1956.
She is survived by one daughter, Cathy S. Ocharzak and husband, Dennis, of Hagerstown; granddaughter, Christina M. Ocharzak; special niece, M. Charlene Snyder and her three daughters, Karen E. Sechler of Fairplay, Sara L. Stacy of Catonsville, and Samantha S. Snyder of Hansonville; special friends, Genny Cregger of Keymar and Doris Hall of Woodsboro; and a brother, J. Edward Thompson of Baltimore.
Mrs. Crabbs was predeceased by four sisters, Helen M. Murray, Betty J. Gosnell, Peggy A. Bell, and Mary E. McKnight; and one brother, Carl F. Thompson, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville, where services will begin at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Haugh's Church Cemetery.
