Dorothy "Dot" Young
March 26, 1931 — June 27, 2018
Dorothy "Dot" Eloise Young, 87, of Frederick, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. She was born Dorothy Eloise Epling on March 26, 1931 in Giles County, Virginia to the late Zibey Marshall Epling and Annie Laura Williams.
Mrs. Young worked for Maas Opticians early in her marriage and then stayed home to raise her three children and support her husband. During this time she enjoyed working in the garden; canning vegetables, loving her many animals across the years, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her daughter Heather Scheuerman and husband Robert of Ijamsville; her brother Bill Epling of Virginia, four grandchildren, Eric Young Jr., Brad Doyle, Darren Zaharoff, Paige Zaharoff; and several great grandchildren, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Avis A Young, her son Eric Young, and daughter Diane Van Vleck; as well as, sister Statia Sisler, and brother Alan Epling.
Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
