Dorothy Taylor

Dorothy Taylor, 93, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, October 9, 2021, Frederick, Maryland.
Born in Passaic, NJ, she was the daughter of John  Jones and Alice (Hill) Jones. She graduated from Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, PA.  She served as a Youth Pastor at Rockville Assembly of God Church and also as Pastor at Gaithersburg Assembly of God Church.
Dorothy was married to Gerald Taylor for 61 years.  She worked and retired from Montgomery County Public Schools. Dorothy was always involved in various ministries of her church, including teaching Sunday School and Bible Studies.  She had a love for music throughout her life and taught as well as played the piano.  She also had a beautiful voice and was a member of the Sweet Adelines of MD for many years.  She was a volunteer at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  Her hobbies included sewing and knitting.  She loved to travel and took many trips with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Greg Taylor and wife, Ethel of Frederick, MD, Gary Taylor and wife, Denise of Charles Town, WV and Jon Taylor of Danville, PA, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.  She is predeceased by her husband, Gerald Taylor, her son, Dr. Mark Taylor, and her granddaughter, Leah Taylor.
A celebration of Dorothy's life journey will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Solid Rock Assembly of God, 3726 Clay Street in Point Of Rocks, MD with Pastor Debbie Gillispie officiating.  Masks are optional for the service. The interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Solid Rock Assembly of God Church in her memory.
