Dorothy Orrison

Mrs. Dorothy G. (Dot) Orrison died Sept. 15, 2017 at Saint Joseph’s Ministries in Emmitsburg, MD. She was the wife of the late Lester E. Orrison, whom she married in May 1954. Born August 5, 1930 at Loys Station MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Ethel Beitler Green.

Mrs. Orrison was a member of the Thurmont United Methodist Church and a dedicated volunteer to the church’s Clothes Closet. She liked to serve the church "behind the scenes" and did so in many ways. Throughout her life, she traveled extensively including many trips abroad and across the United States with her husband Les. Following retirement from their business, the Frederick News Agency in Frederick, MD, the two wintered in Sebastian, FL for many years.

Surviving are the following: her sister, Ruth G. Sayler and husband David of Thurmont, MD; sister-in-law Dorothy M. Green and partner Jack Leishear of Thurmont, MD; niece, Diane Chamberlin and husband Robert of Saint Thomas, PA; stepdaughter Thais Orrison Skovronski, San Mateo, CA; three grandchildren Melanie Van Zeben and husband David, Arizona; Mark and Veronica Skovronski, San Mateo, CA; and four great grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Van Zeben, Arizona, Mark, Jr. & Roman Skovronski, San Mateo, CA. Mrs. Orrison was pre-deceased by her brother C. Ray Green.
