Dorothy Virginia Myers, 72, of Frederick, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at her home.
Born on February 21, 1948, in Frederick, she was the daughter of Paul Snowden and Ella Myers. She was loved and cared for by Anna Mae and Albert Dotson from an early age.
She is survived by two children: daughter, Terry Young and her husband Eric and son, Patrick Myers and his wife Christine; 3 grandchildren: Larry Spencer, III, Zavior Young and Lakyia Young; 1 great-grandchild, Rilei Spencer. She is also survived by 4 sisters: Mary Delauter, Bonnie Moore, Ann Jackson and Ella Washington and her husband Worthy; a brother, Joseph Dotson and wife Sherry as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be remembered by her dear friend, Esther Clemons and also her long-time partner, Wes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Raylene Dotson and a brother, Junior Dotson.
Dorothy was educated in Carroll and Frederick County, MD. She had a long employment history in the food service industry working for both the Department of Energy and Frederick Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends; going on vacations with her sister Mary Delauter. She also enjoyed playing BINGO, going to casinos and doing her word searches. She attended church at Strong Tower in Frederick, MD.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 10 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A funeral service will immediately follow visiting hours at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
