Dorothy Jones

Mrs. Dorothy M. Jones , 94, of Frederick, formerly of Severna Park, passed from this life on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Northampton Manor Health Care Center in Frederick. She was the wife of the late Arthur W. Jones, Sr. who died in 1991.

Born on November 29, 1923, in Reisterstown, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe E. and Edith P. Sprinkle Yingling.

She and her husband owned and operated Colonial Auto Supply, Inc. in Severna Park.

"Dot" was a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Arnold Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary, Frederick Chapter No. 79 Order of The Eastern Star, Boumie Temple Ladies of the Shrine, and The Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, boating and camping, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are two children: Arthur "Wes" Jones, Jr. and wife Patricia of Pasadena and, Deborah Miller and husband Bennett of Mt. Airy; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, January 11, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy.

A celebration of Dorothy's life journey will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 12, in the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Woodlawn.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140, Hospice of Frederick County, PO Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702 or the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908 Eldersburg, Md 21784.
