Dorothy Jones

Dorothy Irene Jones, 89, of Middletown, Maryland passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at her home.
Born in Zittlestown, Maryland on May 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Smith) Mongan. Dorothy is also preceded by her husband, Gerald E. Jones who passed in 1975.
Dorothy was a hard working woman. She worked as a line worker for Hanover Shoe Factory for 34 years. During that time, she also worked at the Hagerstown Farm Market where she was known as the, "Cookie Lady."
She loved her flowers and bird houses.
She was a very warm, big hearted person who would help anybody, anytime.
Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Esther R. Shaff of Hagerstown, Maryland and Lola M. Snyder of Funkstown, Maryland; many nieces and nephews, Jamie and J.P. Gregory who were also Dorothy's caregivers, Cheryl and Kenny Logan, Sharon Shaff, Sue and Carl Rice, Brenda Earp, Gary Shaff and Curtis Witek; and fourteen great-nieces and great-nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the Boonsboro Cemetery in Boonsboro, Maryland. The Rev. Daniel Fraley will officiate. The family asks, anyone who will be attending the graveside services, please meet at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland 21713, at 10:30 a.m. for the procession to Boonsboro Cemetery.
