Dorothy Dudrow

Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Dudrow, 83, of Frederick died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Homewood at
Crumland Farms in
Frederick . She was the wife of the late C . Lester Dudrow who died February 9, 1994 .
They had been married for 48 years.

Born June 24, 1927 in Frederick , MD , she was the daughter of the late John David and Sallie Amelia
Smith Crummitt
.

In 1945 she graduated from Frederick High School .

She was a homemaker and devoted her life to taking care of her family and volunteering her t i me in the
community. In earlier years she was a member of the former
Walkersville Evangelical United Brethren
Church and more recently the Walkersville United Methodist Church . She had taught Sunday school and
sang in the choir, and was active with The Board of Child Care.

She was very active in Frederick County Homemakers clubs . She had been a member of the
Buckeystown Homemakers
, The Rose Hill Homemakers and The Walkersville Homemakers. She was a
past county council president and served on the Maryland State Homemakers Board of Directors
.

For many years she was the leader of the Carroll Manor Girls 4-H Club and served as Superintendent of
the 4-H Photography Department at the Frederick Fair
. She was a member of the Maryland 4-H All
Stars
.

She was a devoted member of the Auxil i ary of the Frederick Memorial Hospital where she volunteered
over 8,000 hours in the flower and mail room.

She was also a member of the Frederick Women ' s Civic Club, The AARP of Frederick County, The G l ade
Valley lions Club, and the senior citizens group
of Walkersville.

She is survived by her children, June R . Weedy and husband Kim of Frederick, and Kevin L . Dudrow and
wife Bonnie of Adamstown; six grandchildren, Aaron Weedy and wife Nicole, Karen Weedy, Jennifer
Hipkins and husband Scott, Ryan Dudrow and wife Amy, Brian Smith, and Matthew Smith. She is a
l so
survived by seven great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her daughter Melissa Ann Dudrow Smith and her sister Anna Mae Gouker .

Visitation will be held from 3-5 & 7-9pm on Wednesday June 23, 2011 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday June 23, 2011 at 11:00am. The Reverend Bert Lane and Reverend Linda Warehime will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery .
