Dorothy Derrick, 93, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2017.
Born on December 12, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Brennan and Ada (Young) Brennan.
She worked most of her life as a bookkeeper and enjoyed golfing, mah jong, bridge, and participating in Book Club. She also volunteered at the Brunswick Elementary School, helping children learn to read and also at Crumland Farms.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Derrick and son, James Derrick
She is survived by her devoted children, George E. Derrick (Margaret), Virginia Derrick Mancuso (Thomas), and Bruce R. Derrick (Anne); grandchildren, Deborah Bruehs ( Walter), Kirstin Goldston (Clay), John Mancuso (Mary), Timothy Derrick (Beth), Thomas "T.J." Mancuso (Erica), Benjamin Derrick (Brittnie), Samantha Reilley (Marc), Brittney Derrick and Drew Derrick. She was proud to be called G.G. by Sydney, Alexandra, Campbell, Thomas, Brylie, Isabelle, Natalie, Isabel, Lily,Walti, Derrick, Connor, Caleb, and Stevie.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
