Dorothy F. Ambrose, 85, of Rocky Ridge, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD

Born on December 4, 1931, in Rocky Ridge , MD, she was the daughter of Floyd  Eyler and Oneida  (Welty) Eyler.
She was married to the late Earl F. Ambrose for 55 years.

Dorothy graduated from Thurmont High School.  She worked until her retirement at Moore Business Forms in Thurmont, MD. She and her husband loved traveling, including a cross country road trip to Alaska and spending their winters in Florida.
She enjoyed reading, gardening and watching her birds but nothing compared to the enjoyment she received being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They were her pride and joy.

She is survived by daughter, Deborah Dorsey McCubbin and her husband, Charles; Grandsons, Christopher Dorsey and wife Kathryn; Benjamin Dorsey and wife My; Great Grandchildren, Rowan, Colt, Harper and Charlie. Sister, Josephine Dinterman and her husband Richard; Brothers, Charles Eyler, Jr. and wife Betty,  Richard Eyler and wife Gloria and Francis Eyler, Brother-in-law, Carroll Schildt. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her son, Dennis Ambrose and sisters, Betty Lemmon, and Doris Schildt.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Thurmont), 104 East Main Street in Thurmont, MD.

A celebration of Dorothy's life journey will take place at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 10043 Longs Mill Road in Rocky Ridge, MD.   Pastor James Russell will officiate.  Interment will be Private

Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church or Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery.
