Doris Lee {Fogle} Horman

September 10, 1934 — April 28, 2009

Mrs. Doris Lee(Fogle)Horman, 74, of Frederick, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones by her side and the caring staff of Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Norman Lee Horman.

Born on September 10th, 1934 in Frederick County, the daughter of the late Harvey and Virginia Fogle, Sr.

Mrs. Horman was a long time and active member of the Hyattstown Christian Church, where she served as an elder, was treasurer for 19 years, treasurer of the CWF,taught Sunday School, was the organist and pianist for the Children's Choir and loved singing in the church choir.

As a young woman, Mrs.Horman worked at Frederick Tailoring Sewing Factory, and at the Maryland National Bank as a file clerk, bookkeeper, teller and senior collection clerk.

She was employed there for 34 years and retired as Financial Service Manager and Senior Officer of the Bank.

After retirement she worked for 9 years at the College View Nursing Home in the payroll and billing department. She was a very active member of the AARP.

She loved playing Bingo, camping and spending time with her family.

Surviving beside her husband are brothers; Thomas W. Fogle, Sr. and wife Shirley, Charles W. Fogle, Sr. and wife Janice, sisters; Betty M. Brashears and husband Bernard T. Sr., Sandra J. Dayhoff and husband Ray, Sr., Cynthia Diane Brown and husband Gary, Ella Fay Mumaw, a sister-in-law Dorothy C. Fogle.

She was preceded in death by a brother Harvey F. Fogle, Jr and a sister Patsy Ann Dutrow, brothers-in-law;
Stanley E. Brashears,Charles M. Dutrow and Gus Horman, sisters-in-law; Bertha Thompson, Eunice Miller, Mary Ellen Lewis and a nephew Allen Lee Brashears.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly remembered by her close friend Martha Cooley.

Visitation: Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Friday, May 1st, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Services: Services at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Terry Reister, Rev. John Powell and Pastor Benjamin C. Manning officiating. Pallbearers will be Brian Davis, Bernard Brashears, Jr., Kyle Brashears, Steven Flook, Eddie Flook and Harvey R. Miller III.
Interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hyattstown Christian Church Scholarship Fund or Citizens Care and Rehab Center.
