Mrs. Doris R. Sprague, 79, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at her home. She was the wife of Ralph Sprague.
Born March 16, 1935 in Winfield, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Theodore and Virginia Mary Devall Poole.
Mrs. Sprague attended the Morningstar Family Church. She loved spending time with her family, gardening and cooking. She will be remembered for her delicious red velvet cakes.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Charles Sprague of CA, Eileen Sprague Haines and husband Eric of TN, Teresa Ogle and husband Ben of Thurmont, Bobbie Sprague and Paul Newman of Rockville and Brenda Williams who was like a daughter, grandchildren Wayne Kerns, Jr and wife Stacey of PA, Ian Sprague Haines of TN and Morgan Ogle-Bussard and husband Seth of Keymar and two great grandchildren Stella and Sawyer Kerns. and eight siblings. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by three children Kenneth W. Sprague, Nancy E. Sprague and Ralph Sprague, Jr. and four siblings.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont Thursday, March 19, from 2-4 and 7-9pm, where services will be held Friday, March 20, at 11:00 am with Rev. Donna Sandridge and Rev. Warren Rice officiating.
Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
