Doris McDonnell

Doris Marie McDonnell, 76, of Myersville, Maryland passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Meritus Medical Center.
Born September 8, 1936, she was the daughter of Fletcher and Marie McAlister, of Westminster, Maryland.
Doris was a retired school teacher and local business woman. She was an active member of the Frederick County Republican Women’s Club and Maryland Central Committee. She enjoyed quilting, music, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded by her late husband, George McDonnell, Sr., eldest son, David McDonnell, and brother, Carl McAlister.
Doris is survived by her sons, Bruce A., of Myersville, George H. Jr., of Middletown, Bryan F., of Frederick, daughter Brenda Freysz, of Myersville, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland.
