Doris Jessie

Mrs. Doris Louise Jessie, 90, of Mount Airy, Maryland passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Frederick, MD. Born May 30, 1922 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Helen Neuman and Gilbert Federline. Her husband, William Jessie preceded her in death in 1964. She is survived by one daughter, Diana Mahoney and husband Jim of Gaithersburg, MD, two grandchildren, Jimmy Mahoney and wife, Kristi of Keedysville, MD, Kariane Fitzgerald of New Market, MD, and six great-grandchildren, Josh, Jaret, Jamie, Kali, Shae, and Trent. Doris was a member of the Damascus Travel Club where she enjoyed traveling around the world. She also was a member of the Montgomery County Police Alumnae Association. She worked as an Administrative Assistant with General Motors. In addition to her late parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, May Roach, Grace Federline, and one brother, Maurice Federline. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 8, 2013 from 3-5 PM at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County Police Alumni Association, P.O. Box 431, Damascus, MD 20872-0431 or the Frederick County Humane Society, 217 Patrick Street, Frederick, MD 21701.
