Doris Ingram

October 12, 1927 — November 17, 2008

Doris M. Sandy Ingram, 81, of 20009 Rosebank Way, Hagerstown and formerly of Rohrersville, went to be with her Lord Monday, November 17, 2008 at Loyalton Assisted Living of Hagerstown.


Born October 12, 1927 in Brunswick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ward and Eva Iona Grams Sandy.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Ingram, Sr., December 9, 1996.


Doris was a graduate of Boonsboro High School.


She was retired from the Maryland Correctional Training Center where she was supervisor of the mail room.


She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and served in various capacities over the years.


Doris is survived by one daughter, Debra K. Knight and husband, Kevin, of Sharpsburg; three sons, Dr. Thomas W. Ingram, Jr. and wife, Karen, of Maugansville, Dr. Ronald L. Ingram and wife, Sharon, of Sharpsburg and Chuck Ingram of Sanford, N.C.; three brothers, Charles Sandy of Florida, Walter Sandy and Donald Sandy both of Maryland; six grandchildren, Erin Beth Knight; Sandra Marie Speakman and Bryan Thomas Ingram; Laura Renee Weddle and Bradley Scott Ingram; and Karla Nicole Anderson; and four great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by two sisters, an infant and Evelyn Reeder; and one brother, Ward Sandy.


The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, November 22 at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro.  Graveside services will be held 12:15 p.m. Saturday at Bethel United Methodist Cemetery in Rohrersville.


A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, November 23 at Bethel United Methodist Church.
