Doris Hubbard

January 15, 1932 — February 1, 2018

Mrs. Doris Mae (Lambert) Hubbard, 86, of Woodsboro, MD, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital under the care of hospice.  She was the wife of 60 years to the late Charles Stanley Hubbard Sr., whom passed away on November 22, 2007.

Born on January 15, 1932 in Utica, MD, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. and Cora Eva (Blubaugh) Lambert. She was a long time member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Utica. Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking and canning. She also enjoyed playing cards, having yard sales to enjoy time socializing with friends, and search word puzzles. She loved spending time playing games with her grandchildren and watching game shows on TV.

Surviving are her three daughters, Susan I. Tinney and husband John of Walkersville, Kathy M. Hubbard of Williamsport, and Charlene E. Haines and husband Kennith of Frederick; three sons, Charles S. Hubbard Jr. and wife Lorna of Lewistown, Larry H. Hubbard and wife Sandra of Martinsburg, and David A. Hubbard and wife Vicki of Walkersville; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Eva J. Bollinger and husband Randy of Woodsboro and Franklin H. Lambert and wife Linda of Woodsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Margaret Crutchley, Frances Miss, Nettie Taylor, Patsy Feeser, Audrey Smith and Paul H. Lambert.

A receiving of family and friends will be held from 1 to 3 pm, on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, 10625 Old Frederick Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.

Doris will be inurned with her husband at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Utica. The service will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Utica Cemetery, c/o John Grove, 111 Kline Blvd, Frederick, MD 21701 or to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. 1799, Frederick, Maryland 21702.
