Doris L. Holmes of Mount Airy, MD died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Carroll County Hospital. Doris was born January 16, 1956 in Saltville, VA and was a lifelong area resident of Damascus and Mount Airy, MD. She loved gardening, shopping, crabs and spending time with her family and pets.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford L. Holmes; mother, Blanche Thomas; four children, Robert and Pamela Taylor, Clifton and Sabrina Holmes; three grandchildren, Deondre Bowie, Shania Taylor and Jalyn Blackwell; four sisters, Estelle Alexander, Barbara Gonzalez, Melinda Felix and Melissa Thomas; and she is also survived by a niece, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her father, John Wesley Thomas.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Boulevard, Mount Airy, MD on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 11am-12 pm with funeral service at 12 noon. Interment All Souls Cemetery.
