Ms. Doris W. Egge, 83, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Citizens Rehab Center. She was a resident of Heartfields Assisted Living in Frederick for the past year.
Born August 25, 1931 in Greensburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond W. and Mildred Laughlin Egge of Frederick, MD. She was predeceased by her sister Connie Egge Arner of Frederick, MD on December 17, 2013.
Ms. Egge served her Country in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. She retired after 30 years of federal service at Ft. Detrick, part of that time as Post Librarian. After her retirement she spent 5 years working at the Town Office in Walkersville. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, quilting, and time spent with her nieces, Kathy and Lara. She was an avid reader, loved music, art, old movies, and also loved having lunch with her many friends, neighbors and former coworkers.
She is survived by a sister Linda Egge Smith and her husband Dennis of Walkersville; two nieces, Katherine Smith and Lara Keller and her husband Steve, a great nephew Drew Keller and great niece Emily Keller, all of Thurmont, and one nephew Stephen Arner of McLean, VA.
Services and interment private.
