Doris Davis

Doris A. (Netz) Davis, of Washington Street in Hagerstown and formerly of Boonsboro, passed from this life to the next on Monday, May 21, 2012 at her home.
Born on February 7, 1937, in Appletown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Carmie Luther and Viola Mae (Morrison) Netz. Her husband of 54 years, Donald E. Davis, preceded her in death on April 8, 2010.
She was a member of Christ Christian Church at St. Paul's in Purcellville, Virginia.
Doris attended the Boonsboro High School and worked as a nurses aide at the old Boonsboro Nursing Home until her marriage. She then went to work as a stitcher at the Hanover Shoe Factory in Middletown until it was closed. She was employed for ten years with Larstan Industries in Hagerstown and three years at the Burger King on Sharpsburg Pike.
She was a league bowler at Turner's Enterprises in Halfway and was a past member of the Boonsboro Band Boosters.
She is survived by two sons, Terry L. Davis and wife, Theresa, of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Douglas S. Davis and wife, Tina, of Hagerstown; two sisters, Joyce Sigler of Middletown, Maryland, and Delavene Cunningham of Hagerstown; and one brother, Luther E. Netz of Wolfordsburg, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by three granddaughters; two grandsons; five great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Kamryn LeAna Booth; and two brothers, Daniel Netz and George Morrison.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Rev. Roland L. England, Jr. will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit beginning at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the funeral home, where the family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
