Doris Louise Crowl passed away July 21, 2007 and now lives among The Angels. She was born March 29, 1923 in Hagerstown to the late John and Edna (Ford) Glenn of Hagerstown. Doris graduated from Boonsboro High School, Class of 1941.
Doris married Harry Martin Crowl, Jr., December 21, 1941, and they had 65 wonderful years together.
Doris was a faithful member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren. She was an active member of Eagles Club 1136 Auxiliary and the Moose Club both in Brunswick.
Doris worked for Hanover Shoe Company in Middletown, MD until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Crowl, Jr. and many cousins. Doris is survived by her loving nephews and nieces and their families; Robert Oakes, Elaine Whipp, Patsy Ensor, Gene Fouche and Vaughn Crowl; and the families of Marilyn Rudolph; and the daughters of Wanda (Oakes) Huffer and Irene Clark.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Glenn and a sister, Athene Derr.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26 at Brownsville Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Alan Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro where the Ladies Auxiliary of Fraternal Order of Eagles will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m.
