Doris Aymar

Doris Mae (Hurwitz) Aymar, 88, of Rohrersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born on January 6, 1926, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mabel (Merrifield) Hurwitz. Her husband, Robert H. Aymar, preceded her in death in 2002.
Doris was retired from Hydronautics Research, Inc. in Columbia, Maryland.
She was a renowned teacher of rug hooking and was a member of several hooking guilds.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan A. Coulter of Hedgesville, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Richard B. Shewbridge of Hagerstown, Karen L. Jones of Laplata, Maryland, and Victoria A. Courtney, of Golden Beach, Maryland; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kristen F. Aymar; and one brother, Robert E. Hurwitz.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Ralph E. Jamison will officiate.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
