Mrs. Donna Sue Stull, 59 of Mt. Airy died on Sunday May 18, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Richard L. “Rick” Stull.
Born on November 20, 1954 in Olney she was the daughter of the late Edwin W. Downs. and Beulah F. (Standoff) Downs .
Donna was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother and enjoyed time spent with her family. She enjoyed gardening, NASCAR and her Dachshund dogs. She was a member of Mt. Airy Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and a Girl Scout leader.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children Christy L. (Plunkard) Purdum and husband Michael of Walkersville and Step-son Jeff Stull and wife Holly of New Market. Grandchildren Caitlyn, Makayla, Joey Purdum, Haley, Brayden and Delaney Stull. Brothers Edwin F. “Junie” Downs Sr.., and Daniel Downs. Sisters Patsy Reamy, Nancy Parham and Linda Downs-Webb. Numerous nieces and nephews. Also Christy’s close friends Dana and Dawn who considered her a second Mom.
She was preceded in death by a sister Mary “Joanne” Hensley and great nephew Jeffry Downs.
Visitation will be held on from 6-9pm on Thursday May 22, 2014 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd. Mt. Airy, MD where services will be held 11:00am on Friday May 23, 2014. Reverend Paul Rapp will officiate. Interment will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
