Donna Kay St. Denis

October 12, 1956 — July 12, 2024

Mount Airy

Donna Kay St. Denis (Geisler) of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed away, peacefully, on Friday, July 12, 2024 at the age of 67.

Born on October 12, 1956 in Frederick Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William and Almeda Geisler and the wife of the late James (Jimmy) F. St. Denis.

During her lifetime, Donna was a devoted and loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She worked at National Geographic, the Montgomery County Court House, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland, Beach Brothers Printing, Inc. and the Frederick County Courthouse where she retired due to health issues. She and Jimmy moved to Hudson, Florida in 2008. After the passing of her husband in January 2023, Donna moved back to Maryland and lived under the care of her family and Frederick Health Hospice at her sister’s home in Mount Airy. She loved being back home and spending time with her family, especially her great-nephews and nieces, and countless friends.

Donna's personality was infectious, and her smile would light up any room. Regardless of her physical ailments due to Multiple Sclerosis, her positive attitude and joyful spirit never wavered. She was an inspiration and loved beyond measure.

We are grateful to those who cared for Donna upon her return to Maryland, which allowed her to live the remainder of her time with those she loved most. To Jeannie (Carole) and Will, thank you for opening your home to care for Donna, and for the sacrifices you both made to allow her to live comfortably and happily. To her hospice nurse and aide, Felicia and Sakeena, Donna loved you both, and we appreciate your care for her more than you know. To her best friend, from the age of 8, Pam Beale Pipkin; her high school buddies, Cindy Torbeck, Sue Ensor, Tina Spurlock, Teresa Webb and Faith Burall; her softball buddies, Mary Enright, Mel Hoyt, Barb Maly, Daphne Maught and Mary Jane Gordon; and her Disney world buddy, Winnie Ward, we could have not done this last year without any of you!

Surviving to hold dear the countless memories are her siblings; brother, Gary Lee Geisler and his wife, Vicki, sisters, Carole Jean Thompson and husband, Will, and Lori Ann Dopler; her nephews and nieces and their families, Jamie Lea Hansberger (Blake) and husband Tommy, Jarrod Wesley Thompson and wife, Kate, (Grant and Emma), Michael Alan Geisler and wife, Brittany, (Paislee and Crue), Austin Alan Gregory (Aubrey) and Carly Michelle Price and husband, Shane, (Carson and Camryn); sisters-in-law, Julie Brummitt, Joan Beach; and brother-in-law, Rick St. Denis. She will also be missed by her extended family that held a special place in her heart.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, William and Almeda Geisler; husband, James F. St. Denis; her niece, Amy Geisler; and her brother-in-law, Ted Dopler.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy be in the form of a memorial contribution to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The family also would like to share a special thanks for the care provided by Frederick Health Hospice and the Kline House.

The family will be planning a Celebration of Donna’s life at a later date.
