Donna Taylor Loeb

October 15, 1939 — January 26, 2023

Frederick

Mrs. Donna Taylor Loeb nee Monnier, age 84 of Frederick died on January 26, 2023 surrounded by her family.  Her beloved husband, Ed Loeb proceeded her in death.  Born in New Haven, Connecticut on October 15, 1939.  Donna was the daughter of Dr. Dwight and Lorraine Monnier.

Donna graduated from Karachi American School in Karachi, Pakistan in 1957.  She received her BA from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida and MA from the University of Maryland.  Donna taught for the Montgomery County Public Schools in grades 3-6 for many years.  In her spare time, she had a children’s little theater in Chevy Chase, Maryland, that performed at hospitals and nursing homes.  She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick Maryland and spent many years participating in church groups.  Donna was an avid reader and belonged to the Westwinds Book Club.  Donna also played in several bridge clubs.

Donna’s hobby and great love was seeing the world.  She completed many items on her bucket list. Walking in the steps of Christ in the Holy Land, climbing the pyramids in Egypt, slipping into a night club in Talin, Estonia, visiting the Soviet Union and walking the Great Wall of China, are just a few of her adventures.

Donna’s greatest joy in her later years was having her family and friends spend time with her on “the farm.”  She opened her heart and home to many and made them feel part of the family.  Her beloved pets, dogs, cats, horses, and goats always surrounded Donna.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Tanya Taylor Rubinstein of Nashville, TN, her granddaughter Chloe Siegman, Chicago, IL, her sister Linda Purdum and her husband Allan, her brother Dwight Monnier and his wife Shirley, and their families.
