Donald (Donnie) Toms, Sr.

Mr. Donald “Donnie” Clarke Toms, Sr., 71 of Frederick, Maryland, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Georgetown University Hospital. He was the husband of his loving wife Gloria Michael Toms.

Born November 6, 1938 in Montgomery County, Maryland, he was the son of Beatrice M. Clingan Toms of Frederick and the late Clarke Elvin Toms.

Mr. Toms was a dairy farmer all his life. He loved farming and collecting farm toys. Donnie was a member of the Maryland/Virginia Milk Producers since 1949.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by six children Donald Toms, Jr and wife Dottie, Linda Toms, Michael Toms and wife Karen, Randall Toms and wife Sandy and Paula Toms all of Frederick, seven grandchildren Donald, III, Stephanie, Jason, Michael, Jr., Megan, Randall, Jr., and Amanda, five great grandchildren and two sisters Joan Derrick of Ashton, MD and Patricia Farrell of Potomac, MD. He will also be missed by his many farming companions. He was preceded in death by a son Christopher Toms.

Services :  Services will be held at the funeral home on May 8th, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charlie Beekley officiating. Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

Visitation :  The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Friday, May 7, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.
