Donald "Donnie" Norris, Sr.

Donald "Donnie" L. Norris, Sr., 66, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, October 21,2014, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 1, 1947, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary E. (Thomas) Norris.
Donnie was an accomplished custom cabinet maker and took great pride and joy in his work. Donnie also enjoyed trout fishing, hunting, and being with his family.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Terry D. (Burgee) Norris, whom he married on June 22, 1966; his daughter, Tammi Stone (Maxie); his son, Donnie Norris, Jr. (Billie); his sister, Joyce Fram; and his brother, David Norris. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brett Garris (Nicole), Ryan Garris, Taylor, Dylan, Jacob, and Kallie Norris; and his great-granddaughter, Rowen Garris.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Umstead, Louise Stevens, and Ernest Norris.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October, 25, 2014 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland 21702. Rev. Jennifer K. Smith will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.on Friday, October 24, 2014, at the funeral home.
