Mr. Donald Lee (Tank) Rippeon, Sr., 64 of Frederick, Maryland passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Lucinda Elaine Rippeon.
Born September 26, 1948 in Frederick, Maryland he was the son of the late Charles L. Rippeon and Jean H. Powell.
Donald was a 1966 graduate of Linganore High School. He was employed with NIH from 1966-1980. After his employment he went into business for himself where he owned and operated Tank’s Place.
He was a member of Woodsboro American Legion. He was also a member of the N.R.A and enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed riding horses, four-wheelers and being in the outdoors.
In addition to his loving wife Lucinda he is survived by his two sons, Donald Lee Rippeon, Jr. and Kyle Chase Rippeon and fiancé Cearra, three daughters, Denise B. Rippeon, Tonya L. Lockard and Sheila R. Haines, five grandchildren, Caiden Rippeon, Ashlyne Hamby, Jeffery Barlow, Daniel and Alexis Haines, a brother, Richard Rippeon and wife Patsy, a sister, Patsy Sparkman and friend George.
He will also be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews and his special friends Roland and Gloria Castle and Ron Dorsey.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, June 13 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 14th at 10:00AM with Pastor Elza Hurst officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
