Donald Lee "Bud" Reeder, age 82, of 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, and formerly of Main St., died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Fahrney-Keedy Home near Boonsboro.
Born Feb. 3, 1927 in Benevola, MD, he was a son of the late Roland Hubert and Isabel C. Martz Reeder.
He had been employed for 25 years as a correctional officer at Maryland Correctional Institution near Hagerstown.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He attended Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro.
He was a member of Antietam Lodge 197 AF & AM Masons in Keedysville, Ali Ghan Shrine in Cumberland, MD, and American Legion Post 202 in Williamsport.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Leona Mae Kitchen Reeder; one sister, Grace I. House of Hagerstown; two brothers, George A. Reeder of Gaithersburg, MD, and Kenneth Reeder of Edgewater, Fla.; one niece and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. Robert G. Brennan will officiate. Burial will be in the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
