Donald Nusbaum

Donald L. Nusbaum , 81, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Doey House, Hagerstown.  He was the husband of the late Dorothy Nusbaum, who preceded him in death in 2005.  Born on July 25, 1936, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Herbert D. and Helen V. (Mills) Nusbaum.

Donald was a grocery manager at Carmack Jays store in Frederick for over 20 years.  A veteran of the United States Army, he received the rank of Sergeant.  In his free time, Mr. Nusbaum enjoyed working in his vegetable garden at his home on Bells Lane.

He is survived by daughters Donna Easterday and husband Richard and Linda Crouse and husband Larry; grandchildren Crystal Phelps and her husband Keith, Christopher Easterday and wife Kelsey, Keith Crouse and wife Angie and Kevin Crouse and wife Theresa and great-grandchildren Tori Phelps, Logan Phelps, Emma Lewis and husband Ralph, Cody Crouse, Trevor Crouse, Collin Crouse, Jenson Easterday, Avery Swain and McKinley Lewis.  He is also survived by brothers Herbert "Hobbs" E. Nusbaum; sisters Linda Brendal and Helen "Mickey" Buchanan.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Carol Ann Brown and Betty Alamere and a brother Richard D. Nusbaum.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 19, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.  A celebration of Donald's life journey will take place on Friday, April 20 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home, Rev. Tim May officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
