Donald Miller

Donald L. Miller, age 70, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Meritus Health Care Center in Hagerstown. He has now found eternal rest with his Heavenly Father. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 38 years, Vicki.

Born on February 13, 1953, in Washington County, he was the son of the late John and Catherine (Souders) Miller.

Donnie graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1971 and served in the United States Navy with an honorable discharge before pursuing a career as a skilled welder. He worked with dedication at Grove Manufacturing, Cumberland Valley Metals, and Antietam Metals.

Donnie attended Virginia Avenue Church of God in Hagerstown. He found joy in pastimes like motorcycle riding, hunting, fishing, and camping with his beloved family. A talented woodworker, he spent many hours in his workshop and cherished watching his grandsons' baseball games. His affection for his Shelties, Laddie and Lady, was truly heartwarming.

In addition to his wife, Donnie's memory lives on through his stepsons and their families, Leroy Daugherty, Jr. and his wife, Joanna, along with grandson Jacob, all from Boonsboro; and Arron Daugherty and his wife, Michelle, accompanied by grandsons Hunter and Trey, all from Greencastle, Pennsylvania. He also shared a deep bond with his dear friends, Theresa and Donnie Reiff.

A celebration of Donnie's remarkable life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Virginia Avenue Church of God, located at 17306 Virginia Avenue in Hagerstown. The church will be open at 10 a.m. for fellowship with the family followed by the ceremony. Rev. Shawn Bushman will officiate. Inurnment will be held at Boonsboro Cemetery. Following the inurnment, friends and family are warmly invited to rejoin at Virginia Avenue Church of God for a time of food and fellowship, where we will collectively remember and celebrate the life of Donnie. Your presence and support during this time are deeply appreciated.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the Fresenius Kidney Care technicians and Meadow Kidney Care, as well as Dr. Anwar Iqbal, for their exceptional care.
