Mr. Donald R. Kilgore, 84, of Frederick died Friday, October 11, 2013 at Kline Hospice House. He was the husband of the late Esther Kilgore who died in 2011. They were married 49 years.
Born March 30, 1929 in York, P.A., he was the son of the late Roy and Kathryn Kilgore.
In younger years, Mr. Kilgore worked as a printer for the federal government. He enjoyed target shooting and collecting books. He moved to Frederick in 2007 from Rockville. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is survived by his son, Don Kilgore and wife, Nicole, of Frederick and their two daughters, Jessica and Mackenzie; a sister-in-law, Betty Kilgore of Houston, TX; two brothers-in-law, James and Roy Schlag of York; four nephews, Rick, Keith, Ken and Scott; and two nieces, Sheila and Sharon.
He was predeceased by his brother, Roy Kilgore.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where a memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
