Donald E. Jackson, 91, of Frederick, MD, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, January 14, 2024. 

Donald was born on June 27, 1932, in Plattsburgh, NY, the eldest son of Bernard J. and Anita R. Jackson. He completed his BS and MS in Elementary School Education and Administration from SUNY Plattsburgh. In August 1960, he married the love of his life Carmen Longo from Ithaca, NY (a Biology major from Cornell). From their loving marriage, they have two children: Anne (son-in-law Gary) and John Joseph. He has two grandchildren: Christopher (wife Jenna) and Brenna (husband Kevin). Don was most proud of his three great-grandchildren: Lola and Maya Dorsey and Evie Rose Metz. 

Their son John Joseph, a talented graphic artist of the Corcoran School of Art, predeceased his parents in January 2016. Don was a beloved educator, employed with the Montgomery County Public Schools from 1970 thru 1994. In 2003, he came out of retirement to become the very proud Interim Principal of St. Martin's School - the highlight of his educational career. Don and Carmen Lived in Gaithersburg from 1970 to 2018, where they were parishioners of St. Martin's Church for forty-eight years. They have been parishioners at St. Timothy's Parish since 2018.

The mass celebrating Don’s extraordinary life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 26 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church. 201 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.
