Donald Guessford

Donald R. "Monk" "Slim" Guessford, 72, of Keedysville, Maryland, passed peacefully while surrounded by his family on Friday, April 16, 2010 at his home.
Born on September 13, 1937, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Jesse E. and Bessie N. (Charlton) Guessford.
Donald retired in 2001 from CSX Transportation. He had worked as a Trackman in Brunswick, Maryland for 31 years.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia L. (Gifft) Guessford, and his two children, Tina M. and Walter R. Guessford, both of Keedysville.
Donald was preceded in death by four brothers, Franklin, Warren, Carl and Rufus Guessford.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. Rev. Dean P. Pryor will officiate. Interment will follow at Samples Manor Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Maryland.
Friends are invited to visit beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.
