Donald Collins, Sr.

Mr. Donald R. Collins, Sr., 63, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 31, 2010, at his home in Hanover, PA. He was the husband of Denise D. Humphery Collins, his wife of 40 blessed years.

Born on June 18, 1947, in Morristown,TN he was the son of the late Walter and Myrtle Kinder Collins. Mr. Collins was a life long construction worker. He liked to hunt and fish, was a NASCAR fan, but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Donald R. Collins, Jr and wife Ronni of Monrovia, MD and a daughter, Heather Rosenberger and husband Shawn of Abbottstown, PA; 2 grandchildren: Baliegh Tyler and Bryar Rosenberger; 2 sisters: Rose Mary Sullivan and Evelyn Burkhardt and husband David; 5 brothers: Wayne, Robert, James and wife Lori, Albert "Buster" and Jerry " Gary" Collins. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Joe and Walter Collins, Jr; and 2 sisters: Dorothy Finnegan and Margaret "Peggy" Scott.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, January 5, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy, MD. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 6, at Providence United Methodist Church, 3716 Kemptown Church Rd, Monrovia, MD with Certified Lay Speaker, Russell Pipkin officiating.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.
