Donald Bannon

Mr. Donald F. Bannon, 81, of Frederick, MD., passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010 at his home. He was the husband of Joann Stone Bannon, his wife of 31 years.
Born February 21, 1929 in Lewistown, PA, he was the grandson son of the late John F. and Clara B. Burke Lingle.
Mr. Bannon served his county in the U. S. Navy. Don was a communications manager for the U. S. Government for 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 11, the Benevolent Order of the Elks Post #684, Cresaps Rifles - 29 th Division Association, Inc., and the Owls Club.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Blair Lee Bannon and wife Tina of Greencastle, Pa, grandchildren Victoria Bannon of Greencastle, PA, Devin Bannon and Alissa Bannon both of Deluth, GA. He is also survived by his good friends "The Chincoteague Gang" He was preceded in death by a son Scott D. Bannon.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, August 2, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m., where services will be held Tuesday, August 3, at 2:30 p.m.
Interment private.
