Donald Bailey, Sr.
December 16, 1922 — November 27, 2018
Mr. Donald Witten Bailey, Sr., age 95, of Frederick, died Tuesday November 27th at The Ballenger Creek Center in Frederick, Maryland.
He was born December 16th 1922 in Beaver Ohio to Hubert Bailey and Stella Long Bailey. Donald graduated from Beaver High School Class of 1939.
On November 22, 1946, he married Betty Jane McMeans and they shared their life together until her death on May 19th 2012. They had two sons.
He spent much of his life working in gardening and landscaping including time with the National Park Service and owned his own landscaping company for many years. Donald was also a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 781 in Derwood, Maryland. He enjoyed camping and spending time in the outdoors.
Surviving are his two sons: Donald W. Bailey , Jr. of Frederick and Calvin O. Bailey and wife , Sandra of Hagerstown; two granddaughters, Jessica Trice and Brittany Bailey; and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Donald's life will take place at a later date.
