Dolores "Dorey" Holder

Dolores "Dorey" L. (Shumaker)  Holder,  74, of Boonsboro, Maryland passed from this life on  August 7, 2011 at the Village at Robinwood while surrounded by her family .

Born on September 24, 1936 in Tilghmanton, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John William and Florence (Long) Shumaker. Her second husband, David D. Holder, preceded her in death on October 15, 1982.

She was a 1954 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

Dorey worked as a Secretary for Cindell Construction Company in Frederick, Maryland for 15 1/2 years.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her five children, Judy A. Nunnally, Gary W. Flook, Randy M. Flook, Pamela S. Keller and husband Paul, and Joan L. Forrest and husband Terry; one brother, Donald L. Shumaker and wife Liz; one sister, N. Lorraine Moore and husband Harold; her sister-in-law, Janet Shumaker; her former husband, Earl M. Flook; and her four grandchildren, Troy Hoover and wife Kaitlin, Larry Pereschuk and wife Kira, David Pereschuk and wife Nadia, and Ashlee Taylor and husband Aaron.  She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her second husband, Dorey was preceded in death by her brother Robert W. Shumaker, and her recently departed son-in-law Gene P. Nunnally.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Valley Grace Brethren Church, 17310 Gay Street, Hagerstown.  Rev. Dan Pritchett will officiate.  A celebration of Dorey's life will follow.  She will be laid to rest at a private ceremony.
