Dolores Ann Jeter

Miss Dolores Ann Jeter, 63 of Germantown, MD and formerly of Dayton, OH passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 1:20 AM in Frederick, MD. One of six children she was born September 6, 1945 to the late James Frederick and Roberta Hudson Jeter.

She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Dayton, Ohio. From 1963 to 1966, she proudly served her country and received an Honorary Discharge from the U.S. Army (WAC). During her military stay, she received The National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals. Dolores attended Chabot Junior College in Livermore, CA. and later transferred to St. Mary's College, Wolf Creek, CA from which she earned a BA degree.

Dolores was employed with the federal government in the Personnel Department for the Veteran's Administration facilities in the Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, California, and New York areas. She ended her VA career in 1971 in New York as Personnel Management Specialist Director. She transferred to the National Institute of Health, in Bethesda, MD and retired with 31 years of exemplary service in 1994.

She was a member of the Seneca Creek Community Church, Germantown, MD, and was blessed to serve as an usher and on various committees. Dolores had a strong and abiding faith in God that sustained her through all her trials and tribulations. She enjoyed the fellowship and holding prayerful gathering with people of all faiths.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Louise and is survived by, two brothers, James Jeter and wife Joyce, of Huber Heights, OH and Rodney Jeter of Dayton, OH; two sisters, Barbara Jean Jeter, Beach Park, IL and twin sister, Doris Elizabeth Adams of Dayton, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

She extends Special Thanks to her Medical Doctors, E. Serrin Gantt, Isabella Martire and Arthur Woodward of Montgomery County, MD the Montgomery General Hospital (MGH), Olney, MD, 4th Floor Nursing Staff and Hospice of Frederick County, Frederick, MD.

Local arrangements were handled by Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick, MD.

Services: Funeral arrangements will be held in Dayton, Ohio under the direction of House of Wheat Funeral Home.

She has requested donations be made to MGH Health Foundation Cancer Center, c/o Debbie Harner, 18111 Prince Philip Drive, Olney, MD 20832.
