Dolores Hall

Dolores VanFossen Hall, 87, passed from this life on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD. Dolores had returned to her childhood home of Frederick after residing in Greenville, SC for 37 years.

Born on May 21, 1930 in Frederick, she was the daughter of Eldred Winfield VanFossen and Elizabeth (Remley) VanFossen.

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers and two sisters, and her loving husband of 57 years, Eldon Hall.

She was a 1947 graduate of Frederick High School. A full-time homemaker, she was a life-long card player and especially loved bridge. While living in Greenville SC, she was a member of Fox Run Country Club and enjoyed playing golf and taking many golf related trips. She also enjoyed bowling, gardening, and painting.

She is survived by three daughters, Janet Whitcomb, Jody Kelliher and her husband Michael and Laurie Herold and her husband Samuel (Gil); six grandchildren, Brandon Whitcomb and his wife Kathy, Jonathan Whitcomb and his wife Heather, Jessica Rabon and her husband Spencer, Molly Kelliher, Scott Herold and his wife Monika, and Ryan Herold; seven great grandchildren, Blake, Bryce, Beale, Burke, Caleb, Remy, and Aleksander; sister, Cecelia Boller and her husband Charles; brother, James VanFossen and his wife Louise; and brother in law, Bill Lambdin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Dolores’s life journey will take place at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike Frederick, MD on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Rev. Clyde Morsberger officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
