Dixie Davis

Dixie Lee (Plume) Davis, 80, of Hagerstown, passed from this life on Friday, August 24, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 3, 1938, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Grace Edna (Stover) Plume.
For 10 years she was employed with Community Living, Inc. in Frederick and then with the Washington County Department of Social Services. She also worked as a caregiver with Holly Place in Hagerstown.
Dixie was a member of West End Baptist Chapel in Hagerstown.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina M. Reeder of Hagerstown; brothers, Terry W. Plume of Hagerstown and Thomas G. Plume of Mansfield, PA; grandchildren, Shawn Boland, Jodi Benedict, Melissa Zanlunghi, Dawn Keyton, and Michelle Reeder; and great-grandchildren, Brenna Boland, Kelsey Halteman, Kiah Oree, Hunter Benedict, Joseph Zanlunghi, Ella Zanlunghi, Alexis Zanlunghi, and Kaitlyn Keyton; and great-great grandchildren, Peyson Halteman and Nash Halteman; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dixie was preceded in death by her son, Franklin T. Davis.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
A celebration of Dixie's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. Rev. Shane Wilt will officiate. Burial will follow in Manor Cemetery near Tilghmanton.
Memorial donations in Dixie's honor may be made to Hospice of Washington County or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
