Mr. Dillard K. White (Ken), 80, of Frederick, Maryland, took his journey to be with Jesus on July 21, 2019 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband, Sivilla G. White, his wife of 57 years. He was born on August 28, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio. He was the son of the late Ellen Borstdorf and Dillard Preston White. He served in the US Army from 1955 to 1964 with assignments in Korea, France and Germany. He came to Frederick in 1961 while assigned ECTC, Fort Detrick. Ken retired from federal service with 37 years having served with the Department of the Army, Post Office, Health and Human Services, Department of Agriculture and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
He was a Master Mason, a member of AARP and commissioned in the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Among the honors Ken received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award from FEMA in 1992. Ken was an avid musician having played in the local country group "Western Gentlemen", the NCO in Germany, the Gospel Travelers and for many local nursing homes.
Mr. White leaves behind numerous loving family members and friends remembering him for his unconditional love, playful nature and always being there when needed.
The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10am on Thursday, July 25th. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
