Diane Elizabeth Pike Gibbs

Diane Elizabeth Pike Gibbs, beloved wife of Steve, and mother of Wesley and Caren Gibbs, born in Washington, D.C. in 1951 and died August 28, 2023 in Rockville, MD.  Before getting married, Diane worked as a secretary at the AT&T Telephone Co. in Washington, D.C.  After being married and having two children, Diane worked as a secretary with the U.S. Bureau of the Census and the IRS in Suitland, MD and Sunrise, FL, respectively.  She retired from the IRS in 2013 with 25 years of government service.  Diane was preceded in death by her father, Wesley N. Pike and her mother, Ruth Newton Pike Keyser.  In addition to her husband, Steve A. Gibbs, and brother, Dennis W. Pike, who reside in Brunswick, MD and Herndon, VA, respectively, Diane is survived by, her son and daughter, Wesley D. and Caren E. Gibbs, who reside in Clarksburg and Mechanicsville, MD, respectively; and three grandchildren, Jadyn Sternack, Maria Gibbs, and Noah Gibbs. Services at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21st at Stauffer Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, MD with viewing one hour prior on Thursday. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, MD.
