Diana L. Pozun

Diana L. Pozun, 74 of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed peacefully on September 9, 2024, with family and friends by her side. 

Born on Nov. 12, 1949, in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. Helmstetter and Dorothy (Lueck) Helmstetter Stump.

Diana graduated from Bishop Walsh School in Cumberland, MD, in 1967. She attended Catherman’s Business School in Cumberland, MD. From there she went off to Washington D.C. to become a “typewriter lady”. She worked for the Chamber of Commerce and then went on to the EPA where she retired in 2016. 

Upon retirement, Diana enjoyed helping with her grandchildren and spending time with her friends. She was an avid member of the Carroll County Senior Center and Health Unlimited of Mount Airy, as well as the Damascus Travel Club. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. “Bill” Pozun and sister, Nancy L. (Helmstetter) Bradfield. Diana is survived by her daughter, Megan Hendricks and her husband Jason; her grandchildren, Tyler Michael, Jaclynn and Natalie Hendricks; her sister, Cindy Giebel; her brother, Michael Stump and his wife Deanne; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Bld., Mount Airy where a celebration of Diana’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, Pastor TJ will officiate. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery Mount Airy.
