Dewey Chaney

Dewey Lee Chaney, 81, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Kline Hospice in Mount Airy, MD.

Born on April 26, 1940, in , NC, he was the son of the late John Matthew Chaney and Alma Marie (Palmer) Chaney.

He was the loving husband of Sylvia Chaney

Dewey graduated Frederick High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army.

He was owner of Fairlane Exxon, Dew Drop Exxon and provided the community with fresh produce with Dewey's Produce Wagon.  He also retired from Montgomery County Public Schools.

Dewey was an incredible man of God who showed passion about the things closest to him.  He practiced his faith in God, loved his family deeply and enjoyed helping others.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Shawn Chaney.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. 21702.

A celebration of Dewey's life will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Stauffer Funeral Home. Pastor Wes Newell will officiate.

Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in  Frederick, MD.
