“Im gonna love you forever, forever and ever, Amen.”
A gorgeous soul, Devon Chauntel Summers, 28, of Mount Airy, Maryland, has sadly left us on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Born on September 24, 1996, in Weirton, WV, she was the only daughter of Michelle Summers and Jason Brewer.
Devon graduated from Weir High School, Weirton WV, Class of 2015. She also attended West Virginia University in Morgantown WV.
Her nickname to good friends and family was Dev, but only her mother called her Bubby. She had the most genuine, fragile, beautiful soul, so intense that it emanated beyond even her own perception. She walked into a room, and every person and particle in it just gravitated to her. Not just to her beauty, but to her amazing free spirit. Nothing expelled more radiance than her smile, except her vast compassionate heart. She loved fully, with her entire being, best friends and strangers alike without abandon or judgement. Devon's generosity was endless, and she was always quick to offer all that she possessed, as well as her tears and hugs with you.
She had a creative gift with choosing clothes and makeup. Her affection for reading books and poetry covered her bedroom floor. But day and night, she could be found enjoying the one passion that brought her catharsis: music. She adored all genres, from The Everly Brothers to Fleetwood Mac, tastes inherited from her Momma and Gammy. You would see her dancing and singing loudly in the car, her joyful face beaming, when one of “her songs” came on the radio.
Her goal in life was to be the best daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend to everyone, and she succeeded overwhelmingly in her short time here. There will always be a tiny spot in this world that grew dim where she once outshone the sun. She is now in the arms of God and her beloved Uncle Matt, they must have needed her more. "I took my love, I took it down, Climbed a mountain and I turned around, And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills 'Til the landslide brought me down." -Stevie Nicks
She is survived by her adoring mother, Michelle Summers, her “step-father”, Ronnie Frantum, grandfather, David Summers, “gammy”, Melody Clark, and her uncle, Michael Summers.
She was preceded in death by her cherished uncle, Matthew Summers.
