Desda Fogg

Desda Rutledge Fogg, 80, of Mount Airy, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 29th, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD surrounded by her family. Born April 9th, 1938 in Norway, ME, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Rutledge and Ruth Louis (Tracy) Rutledge. She enjoyed spending her teen years in upper Vermont’s Lake Memphremagog region. She was drawn from there to a Nursing certification at the Central Maine General Hospital with concentrations in surgical and OBGYN disciplines - she was always focused on comforting people. Her career culminated in 2002 where she was retired from psychiatric nursing in Maryland. Desda maintained a lifelong special connection to Norway, ME where she created many special memories with relatives and friends in and around Lake Pennesseewassee. The only thing to surpass her love of animals (dogs, cats, birds, fish - it did not matter) was her immediate family and grandkids. Always an avid reader, she spent many special adventures finding long sought-after books. She is survived by her husband, James Fogg, her son and daughter, Brian Fogg and Deanna Snowden respectively, five treasured grandkids, and two pampered Westies named Poppy and Laddie. Her family will be celebrating her life in a private ceremony. Memorial donations can be made to Frederick County Animal Control, 1832 Rosemont Ave., Frederick, MD 21702 in lieu of flowers.
